Nuno is pursuing a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the Flight Mechanics and Controls group. He plans to carry out research on guidance, navigation, and control of satellites with an emphasis in formation flying and rendezvous maneuvers. A native from Portugal, Nuno received a 5-year degree in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in avionics from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon where he was granted four merit awards. Subsequently, he moved to The Netherlands where he pursued a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering in the field of dynamics and control of spacecraft at the Delft University of Technology. Nuno finished his Master’s thesis at the European Space Agency and graduated with honors from Delft University of Technology. After his studies, he worked for two years in the Dynamics and Mathematical Analysis Unit of European Space Agency in the Netherlands in the fields of atmospheric re-entry, mission analysis, and trajectory optimization.
