New Zealand (Fulbright S&T grantee 2010)
Jonathan Squire, a recipient of the International Fulbright Science & Technology Award from New Zealand, is pursuing his Ph.D. at Princeton University. Jonathan plans to carry out research in Fusion energy and plasma physics as part of the doctoral program in Plasma Physics at the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab (PPPL).
Jonathan received a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in physics from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. Subsequently, he worked as a research assistant in the Physics Department for nine months, undertaking theoretical research into cold atoms. While at university, Jonathan also studied performance cello at the music department, participating in many performances, both solo and in groups. He enjoys outdoor sports, particularly rock-climbing and mountaineering, and hopes to avidly pursue these hobbies while in the U.S.
