Heather Buckley, a Canadian International Science & Technology Fellow, is a doctoral student in Chemistry and member of the Arnold Group at the University of California, Berkeley. Heather is originally from Calgary and she completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver under the direction of Professor Jennifer Love.
Her current research in the Arnold Group involves the development of novel catalysts for hydrogen fuel cells, a project that requires substantial collaborative work with scientists from diverse backgrounds and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Heather has also had the opportunity to take advantage of the culture and natural environment surrounding the Berkeley area, taking part in cycling, climbing, ultimate Frisbee, and windsurfing.
Following the completion of her doctoral degree, Heather intends to continue her pursuit alternative energy solutions through ongoing teaching and chemical research.
