Dhilung Kirat is an International Fulbright Science & Technology Fellow pursuing his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research interests include addressing problems in computer security including intelligence systems for malware analysis and detection, digital forensics, web security, and the social implications of these aspects.
Dhilung was born and raised in a remote village in Nepal. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Tribhuvan University, he spent three years in the software industry designing and developing security software products. In addition, he has been actively involved in social organizations coordinating social and charity initiatives. Dhilung is also passionate about art photography and wants to explore art, music, and landscapes around the world.
